Corrosion Management
Corrosion Management is a new concept, born to complement existing Corrosion Engineering measures. Corrosion Management became an indispensable component of an increasing number of asset integrity management systems (AIMS) worldwide. Demands for corrosion management services such as training and consultancy has increased consistently over recent years within the hydrocarbon and the non-hydrocarbon industries. Therefore, it is highly recommended to take this course if you wish to pursue a career in this field and to fully understand the benefits of corrosion management applications.
The two most important skills you will learn from successfully completing this course are:
- The capability for your organisation to pre-empt and therefore prevent a structure from corroding and failing.
- A comprehensive understanding of associated corrosion and asset integrity costs.
Benefits to organisations by training staff to understand Corrosion Management:
Enhances asset integrity and extended asset and equipment design life
Improved (site) personnel safety and environmental protection.
Enhanced teamwork, communication and reporting.
Increased corrosion failure pre-emption capability across the organisation.
Optimised corrosion and integrity costs.
Increased production and operation times and reduced number of unplanned shutdowns.
Who will benefit from studying this course?
• Corrosion & Integrity Engineers
• Inspection Engineers
• Process Engineers
• Pipeline Engineers
• Production & Operation Engineers
• Repair & Maintenance Engineers
• Coating & CP Engineers
• Asset Project Engineers & Asset (Integrity) Managers
Ali worked on numerous asset integrity management, corrosion engineering and corrosion management projects both with engineering and operating companies in the UK’s North Sea, North Africa, Middle East and South Asia with companies such as: Aramco, BG, BP, Cairn Energy, Chevron, Dana, IOOC, NIGC, POGC, Talisman and Total.
To share his wide knowledge of the subject, he authored the NACE international bestselling book ‘An Introduction to Asset Corrosion Management in the Oil and Gas Industry’ (2012),(2nd edition 2016). Due to the growing demand for the corrosion management expertise in both the hydrocarbon and the non-hydrocarbon industries, Ali has also authored two more books on this subject for such industries in July 2017 and the latter May 2018.
