CITB funding
Maximise Training Budgets with CITB Funding
If you’re a CITB-registered employer, there’s some great news — you could be significantly reducing the cost of your staff training through CITB funding support. Whether you’re a small business looking to upskill a handful of employees, or a company managing long-term workforce development, there are two major routes of funding that can help you access high-quality coatings training at a much lower cost.
1. Skills and Training Fund: Up to £10,000 Available
For our Train the painter affiliate companies, the Skills and Training (S&T) Fund provides the opportunity to claim up to £10,000 towards grant-eligible training courses. The amount of funding available is dependent on the size of your company, but many of the Train the painter courses are eligible.
This funding makes training effectively cost-neutral — combining CITB grant support and S&T funding can cover the full cost of the course.
2. Employer Network: 70% Funded Training for CITB Employers
Another fantastic route is through the Employer Network, where CITB will fund 70% of the training cost directly. The employer only pays the remaining 30%, making this a highly affordable way to train staff.
Here’s how it works:
The employer must first contact CITB expressing interest in the training.
CITB will then advise on the funding options and confirm eligibility.
CITB’s booking team will handle the course arrangement directly with Corrodere Academy.
Grants for Levy-Paying Companies
Levy-paying companies can also claim grants for eligible training. This means you can further reduce training costs alongside the S&T fund or Employer Network support.
