We’re delighted to welcome Madacan as the first Train the painter Affiliate Training Provider in Madagascar!

Based in Madagascar, Madacan is a specialist in industrial services with a strong commitment to quality and workforce development. Their decision to join the Train the painter programme reflects a shared vision to raise standards, enhance skills, and support the growth of the coatings industry across the continent.

We spoke with Aina Razafimandimby, Madacan’s Train the painter trainer, to learn more about what motivated them to join the programme and what they hope to achieve.

A commitment to recognised training

“What really motivated us to join the Train the painter programme was the need to provide our painters with internationally recognised qualifications, so that they can work on major projects — especially large-scale mining operations — in Madagascar.”

For Madacan, joining Train the painter is not just about internal development — it’s about creating new opportunities for local workers and ensuring that the skills within Madagascar’s workforce meet international standards.

Raising standards and building a regional benchmark

“Through the Train the painter programme, we expect to achieve not only higher quality in our painting works but also less waste in terms of consumables.
We also aspire to become one of the leading companies in coating application — first in our region, then nationally, and eventually after few years, across the African continent. Our goal is to become a true benchmark in the field.”

Aina’s vision for Madacan is one of continuous improvement and long-term impact. By embedding structured, globally recognised training within their business, the company aims to set new standards of quality and efficiency across Madagascar’s coating industry.

Supporting local workforce development

“Our main expectation is to raise the overall skill level of workers across the country. We hope this will reduce the need for companies to rely on expatriate labour for major painting projects such as port facilities, marine works, or large industrial sites.”

Through Train the painter, Madacan is helping to build local capability — empowering skilled workers to take on key roles in industrial and infrastructure projects while strengthening Madagascar’s position in the global coatings market.

Raising confidence, safety and professionalism

“The introduction of the programme will help reassure local industries that often struggle to find skilled and certified labour. It will also contribute to greater standardisation and professionalism within the coating industry.”

The programme is already generating enthusiasm among teams and clients alike, helping to build confidence in local expertise while promoting safer, more consistent work practices.

Empowering people

“We expect our trainees to gain greater professionalism and learn new techniques — but also to develop more self-confidence in performing their work. We also hope they will become more aware of their career progression and feel a sense of pride in being part of the Madacan family.”

We’re proud to welcome Madacan to the Train the painter community and look forward to supporting their journey as they deliver high-quality, industry-recognised training across Madagascar and beyond.

The blend of Theory and Practical makes the certification a standout point for me personally. High five for everyone at the Corrodere Academy all the way from New Zealand!
