QCA assessments for KAEFER at Rosyth Dockyard

KAEFER UK and Ireland recently completed another successful round of QCA assessments, this time at the Rosyth dockyard, marking another important step in supporting workforce competence and industry standards.

The QCA (Qualified Coatings Applicator) Certification programme is an independent, third-party certification scheme that provides formal recognition of the skills, knowledge, and competency of industrial coatings applicators. Accredited by Lloyd’s Register, it offers a robust benchmark for quality and safety across the industry.

Over a two-day period, a total of 12 assessments were completed across both S1 Spray Painting and A1 Abrasive Blasting – with a 100% pass rate achieved. All candidates undertook their theoretical assessments in advance, followed by practical evaluations conducted on-site at Rosyth.

The assessments were independently carried out by QCA Assessor Stuart Fitchet, who highlighted both the smooth delivery of the programme and the high standards demonstrated on-site:

“It’s great to be involved with an applicator certification program that I feel very passionate about, especially having started out on the tools of the trade myself, many years ago! Coordination and facilitation were led by Shane Davidson at KAEFER UK & Ireland, whose support helped ensure a positive experience for those undertaking the assessments:
