We’re pleased to welcome Tchiowa Business Corporation as a newly registered company.

Based in Angola, Tchiowa Business Corporation works across the Oil & Energy sector and has joined the programme to deliver Train the painter training to its workforce in-house, enabling them to complete internationally recognised training and gain qualifications that are specified across the industry.

We spoke to Jorge Neto A.F.C Manager at Tchiowa Business Corporation about joining Train the painter, the importance of recognised training, and what it means for their workforce.

What made Tchiowa Business Corporation decide to join Train the painter?

As a locally owned company rooted in Cabinda, Tchiowa Business Corporation is committed to raising the standard of coatings and painting work delivered in Angola’s Oil & Energy sector. Joining Train the painter as a registered company reflects our drive to align our workforce with internationally recognised training standards, ensuring our teams are equipped with the latest best practices in surface preparation, coating application, and quality control.

How important is recognised industry training within the industry?

Recognised training is essential. In an industry where coating failures can lead to costly corrosion, asset downtime, and safety risks, having a workforce trained to recognised standards gives clients confidence that work will be carried out correctly the first time, in line with international specifications and HSE requirements.

Which course are you most looking forward to delivering through Train the painter?

We’re particularly looking forward to delivering courses focused on surface preparation and coating application techniques, as these are foundational skills that directly impact the quality and longevity of protective coatings – core to the work we deliver across our projects.

How do you think Train the painter training will benefit your workforce?

It will give our painters and supervisors a recognised, portable qualification that validates their skills, builds confidence on the job, and creates a clear pathway for career progression. It also reinforces consistency across our teams, ensuring everyone works to the same high standard regardless of project or site.

What difference does recognised training make when it comes to client confidence?

Recognised training gives clients independent assurance that our workforce meets industry-accepted competency standards, not just our own internal assessment. For major operators in the Oil & Energy sector, this kind of third-party validation is an important factor in vendor selection and ongoing trust.

Do you think being a Train the painter Registered Company will help support future business growth? If so, how?

Yes. It strengthens our credentials when bidding for new contracts, particularly with international operators who increasingly require evidence of recognised training schemes from their contractors. It also positions Tchiowa Business Corporation as a company investing in its people, which supports both client relationships and long-term workforce retention.

We’d like to thank Tchiowa Business Corporation for joining the Train the painter scheme and welcome them to our network of Registered Companies.

By delivering training in-house, it will be able to develop the skills of its workforce through recognised coatings training while supporting consistency across its projects.

We look forward to working with the team and following their progress as they begin delivering Train the painter training in Angola.

If your organisation is interested in delivering accredited coatings training to its entire workforce through the Train the painter programme, we’d be happy to discuss the available options. Recently completed my Icorr Level 1 and Level 2. David Eyre is exceptional training; I highly recommend anyone that is keen to get into the industry to take up Icorr training and certification. The blend of Theory and Practical makes the certification a standout point for me personally. High five for everyone at the Corrodere Academy all the way from New Zealand!
